A Note to Teens
I see you. I probably get you, too.
I was once where you are now - questioning, pushing back, trying to understand the world and your place in it. It wasn’t easy then and it probably isn’t easy now.
Some people thought I was rebelling.
In truth, I was just thinking differently - maybe a little ahead of my time.
If you’re reading this and feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, pressured, or unsure of who you’re becoming, know this: you are not alone.
The Teen Virtues Series isn’t here to tell you who to be.
It’s here to walk with you as you figure that out - at your own pace, in your own way.
You’re allowed to question.
You’re allowed to choose.
And your choices matter, because they belong to you.
If something in these books resonates, or if you simply need a place to reflect, connect or ask questions, we invite you to reach out. This is a conversation, not a lecture.
You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You just have to keep going.
And we’re glad you’re here.
A Note to Parents
You were once a teenager, too.
You once questioned, resisted, dreamed, struggled, maybe even rebelled in your own way and searched for your own voice - even if time has softened the memory. Today’s teens are doing the same, in a world that is faster, louder and far more complex.
The Teen Virtues Series is not about controlling young people or shaping them into someone else’s idea of who they should be. It is about guiding without suffocating, offering wisdom without ownership and trusting without abandoning.
These books invite teens to:
-
think for themselves
-
make choices consciously
-
understand that freedom comes with responsibility
They also gently ask parents to do something difficult:
-
to listen more than direct
-
to guide rather than control
-
to allow room for mistakes, growth and ownership
If you are looking for books that enforce obedience or guarantee outcomes, this series may not be for you.
But if you are willing to remember who you once were - and to walk beside your teen rather than ahead of them - you are warmly welcome here.
Series Introduction
The Teen Virtues Series follows young people navigating real choices in a complicated world. Each book centers on a single virtue and considers how character develops through decision, consequence and growth.
These stories do not lecture or dictate. They accompany, question and trust young readers to think for themselves.
The Nine Virtues

A story about searching for clarity when emotions run high and revenge feels justified. It considers what integrity requires when anger is immediate and retaliation feels powerful.

Wisdom grows beyond information. It develops through listening, perspective and the willingness to choose the wiser path when it leads to deeper understanding.

Humility develops when ego offers shortcuts to approval. It highlights teachability, self-awareness and the strength that comes from learning without needing praise.

Courage does not always announce itself. It emerges in the willingness to stand firm, speak honestly and remain present when fear urges retreat.

Compassion is tested when care becomes inconvenient or misunderstood. It considers what it means to recognize another’s suffering and respond without losing one’s own boundaries.

Integrity becomes visible when no audience is present. It examines the cost of remaining whole in environments that reward compromise.

Temperance strengthens when impulse competes with intention. It explores balance, self-regulation and the ability to choose wisely in moments of strong emotion or desire.

Perseverance is tested when effort goes unnoticed and progress feels distant. It reveals the determination to continue with intention when giving up seems easier.

Hope is not naive optimism. It is the steady decision to keep building when the future feels uncertain. It invites imagination, endurance and forward movement.
